The 4th IUPAC-Sponsored International Symposium on

Macro- and Supramolecular Architectures and Materials:
Synthesis, Properties and Applications

7-11 September 2008 in Düsseldorf, Germany

The 4th IUPAC-Sponsored International Symposium on Macro- and Supramolecular Architectures and Materials MAM-08 will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany
from Sunday, September 07th to Thursday, September 11th, 2008.

Novel and functional polymer materials will play a key role in science and technology in the 21st century. As functional properties of polymers, which are crucial for controlled molecular architectures and systems, depend on a wide variety of parameters, a discussion of the actual knowledge and state-of-the-art approaches is very important.

The objective of the symposium is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for scientists engaged in the full spectrum of research, development and application. Furthermore the current status and recent developments of new polymer materials and their applications will be discussed particularly with respect to their macro- and supramolecularity The meeting will provide an opportunity to overview the field by covering a wide range of topics. Themes have been selected to cover the whole area of research to facilitate interdisciplinary interactions in both academic fields and industrial technology. The impact of the meeting is indicated by a strong participation of prominent speakers from industry.

The international symposium will bring together scientist from all over the world to present scientific and technological findings related to the areas of polymer chemistry (macromolecular) and extended molecular networks (supramolecular). By gathering engineers, material scientists as well as inorganic, organic and physical chemists, this event will offer a diversified view on these fascinating and versatile issues of science.

IUPAC Sponsorship

It is a condition of sponsorship that organizers of meetings under the auspices of IUPAC, in considering the locations of such meetings, should take all possible steps to ensure the freedom of all bona fide chemists from throughout the world to attend irrespective of race, religion, or political philosophy. IUPAC sponsorship implies that entry visas will be granted to all bona fide chemists provided application is made not less than three months in advance. If a visa is not granted one month before the meeting the IUPAC Secretariat should be notified without delay by the applicant.
